The location for the Puntarenas Free Zone was chosen after an extensive study, and upon recommendation of the world renowned Japanese consulting firms Nippon Koei Co. and the Japan Industrial Location Center.

We are located in Santa Rosa de Barranca in the Province of Puntarenas, near the main Pacific Coast Port of Caldera. This is, 59 miles from the capital city of San José, and 156 miles (6 hours) from Puerto Moin, the most important port of the Atlantic Coast. The park has direct access to foreign ports on both oceans, and to the main International Airport in the Central Valley.

The Park has access to a state of the art worldwide telecommunications system and efficient public transportation. The city of Puntarenas has for long serviced international shipping needs, and is also a major commercial fishing port. Companies have access to established industrial support facilities, such as refrigeration, electrical and general service shops and technicians.
